The Stockholm Junior Water Prize is an international award focused on sustainable ideas by young people aged 15 to 20, encouraging their interest in challenges related to water and sustainability. Organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) since 1997, the prize has Princess Victoria of Sweden as its patron and includes national competitions in more than 30 countries worldwide, culminating in an international final in Stockholm, Sweden.
The SJWP annually gathers the participation of thousands of young people. The international stage takes place in Stockholm, Sweden, during the Stockholm World Water Week.
Organizers of the Prize
In each country, one or more organizations come together to carry out the national stage. In Brazil, since 2020, the Young Sanitation Professionals Program (JPS) of the Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (ABES) has voluntarily organized the prize, with support from IBREI and BrazilCham Sweden in the last three editions.
