The Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations (IBREI) took part in the establishment of the Brazil–Peru Chamber of Commerce, a private initiative led by Peruvian and Brazilian entrepreneurs, with institutional support from the Embassy of Peru in Brazil, the Consulate General, and Promperú.
IBREI’s participation in the creation of the Chamber was led by a delegation composed of: Maurício Prazak, President; Lino Fernandes, CEO; Lilian Schiavo, Board Member; Fábio Frederico, Superintendent for the Americas; and Franchesco Lopes, IBREI’s Ambassador to Bolivia.
The Brazil–Peru Chamber of Commerce aims to facilitate and promote business and investment activities between the two countries, while also enhancing connectivity among market stakeholders.
In addition, the Chamber is committed to fostering investment through initiatives such as investment promotion, opportunity identification, business collaboration, and related activities.
To date, the Chamber’s implementation has progressed on multiple fronts, including the formation of a core working team, engagement with governmental bodies and business associations in both Peru and Brazil, the drafting of bylaws, and the structuring of services to be offered—such as networking events and business matchmaking sessions.
To mark this important step toward the formalization of the Chamber, a hybrid event (in-person and virtual) was held on October 4 at the premises of the Consulate General of Peru in São Paulo, graciously made available by the institution.
The Brazilian and Peruvian business communities were invited to take part in this significant event, which represents an important milestone in promoting trade and economic relations between Brazil and Peru.
