IBREI actively participates in the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro

On July 6-7, 2025, Rio de Janeiro hosted the 17th BRICS Summit during Brazil's rotating presidency of the bloc. The meeting brought together leaders and representatives from emerging nations to advance a more inclusive and sustainable global agenda.
About BRICS
BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) is a coalition of emerging nations established in 2006 (later expanded with new members and strategic partnerships). It focuses on strengthening economic, political, and social cooperation among its members.
IBREI in the BRICS Business Council (BCC)
IBREI has been an active member of the BRICS Business Council for several years, participating in all its working groups. At this summit, IBREI attended in-person meetings and closed-door BCC sessions, where representatives from member countries developed and finalized policy recommendations submitted to BRICS heads of state.

Participation in the Women Business Alliance (WBA)
IBREI is also a member of the Women Business Alliance (WBA), playing a leading role in all working groups. At the Rio Summit, the following representatives participated:
Lilian Schiavo
Madeleine Blankenstein
Su Jung Ko
Akemi Soy
The WBA’s closed-door meetings were crucial, with each group producing targeted recommendations—from food security to innovation—incorporated into the final document presented to BRICS leaders.
BRICS Solutions Awards
For several years, IBREI has organized the BRICS SOLUTIONS AWARDS, recognizing outstanding business and startup initiatives within the bloc. In 2025, the awards expanded globally, with regional rounds in all BRICS countries, culminating in the final ceremony during the Rio Summit.
Led by associate Valeria Carrete, the project involved managing submissions, evaluations, and the awards ceremony—supported by an international jury panel whose dedication ensured the event’s success.
Impact and Legacy
IBREI’s participation in the BRICS Summit reinforces its international role across three strategic pillars:
Global Economic Integration – Through policy proposals developed in BCC and WBA working groups, advancing trade, innovation, and sustainability.
Women’s Leadership – By mobilizing female associates in the WBA to amplify representation and policy recommendations for women entrepreneurs.
Innovation Recognition – Via the BRICS Solutions Awards, promoting scalable solutions with global impact.
“Participating in closed-door council meetings and hosting the global BRICS Solutions Awards in Rio reaffirmed IBREI’s role at the forefront of multilateral business and innovation. Collaboration with our members and jurors highlights the bloc’s potential to build lasting solutions among nations.”
