Celebration of the 212th Anniversary of the Republic of Paraguay

On May 12, the façade of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP), located on the iconic Avenida Paulista, became the stage for a video animation display celebrating the 212th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Paraguay. This moving initiative was carried out by the Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations (IBREI), in partnership with the Consulate General of Paraguay in São Paulo.

The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities, including IBREI President Maurício Prazak and the Consul General of Paraguay in São Paulo, Ambassador Luiz Fernando Ávalos. Both delivered speeches highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Paraguay’s independence, emphasizing the bilateral relations between Paraguay and Brazil and the importance of this date for both nations.

The event’s inauguration was marked by a festive atmosphere, featuring Paraguayan music and dance. Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy artistic performances celebrating Paraguay’s vibrant and diverse culture. Traditional Paraguayan music captivated the audience, offering an authentic immersion into the country’s rich musical heritage.

In addition to the cultural presentations, guests were treated to authentic Paraguayan chipa, a traditional delicacy appreciated worldwide. Typically made from cassava starch, cheese, and other ingredients, chipa is a true gastronomic symbol of Paraguay and reflects the country’s culinary traditions.

The video animation displayed on the façade of the FIESP building was a unique and creative way to celebrate the 212 years of Paraguayan independence. By combining art, music, dance, and gastronomy, the event provided a memorable experience for attendees, showcasing the culture and achievements of the neighboring country.

This joint initiative by IBREI and the Consulate General of Paraguay in São Paulo reinforces the ties between Brazil and Paraguay, promoting cultural and commercial exchange between the two nations.
