On December 26, IBREI held the second activity of its Student Committee: a technical visit to the iconic Palácio dos Bandeirantes, the seat of the Government of the State of São Paulo. The visit provided direct dialogue with Samo Tosatti, Head of the International Advisory Office, and Beatriz Saldanha, Head of the Ceremonial Office, offering students a practical immersion into the diplomatic and administrative routines of the state government.
The program began with a guided tour of the Palace facilities, including the exhibition dedicated to the renowned artist Tarsila do Amaral. Students had the unique opportunity to admire landmark works of Brazilian culture, such as the iconic painting Operários and the historic artwork Libertação dos Escravos, by Pedro Américo, expanding their cultural repertoire and understanding of national artistic representation.
Next, Head of Ceremonial Beatriz Saldanha delivered an outstanding presentation on rules, protocols, and logistics for receiving foreign authorities. She detailed the procedures required to organize high-level meetings and the cultural nuances involved in public ceremonial practices. Her presentation generated great interest among the students, broadening their perspective on the multiple professional paths within the field of International Relations.
Subsequently, Samo Tosatti, Head of the International Advisory Office, shared the responsibilities and competencies of his department, highlighting the role of the State of São Paulo on the international stage. He explained how the Advisory Office operates in analyzing global political and economic contexts, supporting official missions abroad, and attracting investment and international cooperation.
Tosatti also addressed the recent restructuring of the International Advisory Office, formalized through Decree No. 70,049 of November 5, 2025, which defines its responsibilities, including:
Preparing briefing materials for international engagements of the Governor and Vice Governor;
Promoting dialogue with foreign entities and multilateral organizations;
Organizing official visit programs and receiving delegations;
Contributing to the attraction of investments and the promotion of exports from the State of São Paulo.
The visit concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, during which students were able to clarify questions and further explore topics of interest. IBREI extends its sincere thanks to the International Advisory Office, the State Ceremonial Office, and the Government of the State of São Paulo for their warm welcome, openness, and enriching exchange of experiences—an initiative that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the academic and professional paths of all participants.
