Reception for the Delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea

IBREI hosted the delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea in São Paulo for a high-level seminar. The event addressed crucial topics such as economics, legal aspects, and dispute resolution, strengthening commercial and legal ties between Brazil and Korea.


On May 13, the Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations (IBREI) had the honor of hosting the delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea for a highly significant meeting, marked by strategic discussions on economics, legal aspects, and dispute resolution. The event took place at IBREI's headquarters in São Paulo and brought together experts and representatives from various fields for a high-level seminar.


The reception began with the arrival of the guests, followed by the official opening of the meeting. Mauricio Prazak, President of IBREI, and Su Jung Ko, Co-founder of IBREI, welcomed the South Korean delegation, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two countries and the opportunity to strengthen commercial and legal ties.


The meeting continued with presentations by Brazilian experts on crucial topics for the partnership between Brazil and the Republic of Korea. Gustavo Sung, from Suno Research, opened the seminar by discussing the Brazil-South Korea economy and the business opportunities between the two nations. His presentation covered key economic trends and promising sectors for bilateral investments.


Next, Caio Yoshikawa, representative of PG Law and the Asian Legal Studies Center (CELA) at the University of São Paulo's Law School, explored the legal aspects for foreign investors in Brazil. Yoshikawa highlighted regulations and best practices to ensure a safe and favorable environment for South Korean investments in the country.


Soraya Nunes, from the Brazilian Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation, proceeded to discuss dispute resolution and public civil actions. Her lecture focused on the mechanisms available for mediating conflicts and ensuring justice in international commercial transactions, reinforcing the importance of arbitration as an efficient tool for investors.


Following this, representatives from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea provided a comprehensive overview of the ministry's activities and initiatives, offering participants a deeper understanding of the South Korean legal landscape and its policies to encourage international cooperation. The event included a Q&A session, allowing for direct exchange between participants and speakers, which facilitated a rich and enlightening debate on the topics discussed.


The meeting concluded with a networking session and group photos, solidifying the bonds between IBREI members and the delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea. The event, which also featured the participation of IBREI Council Member Lino Fernandes, ended with a moment of camaraderie and photos, further strengthening the ties between IBREI and the South Korean delegation.
