Lilian Schiavo participates in the CAF International Economic Forum and the Business Roundtable – Panama 2026

The Counselor and Emeritus Associate of the Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations (IBREI), Lilian Schiavo, who also serves as Vice President of the Brazil–Peru Chamber of Commerce (CAMBRAPER), participated in the International Economic Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, held in Panama City, further strengthening her role in one of the most relevant environments for regional economic engagement at the beginning of 2026.

The Forum brought together heads of state, government authorities, multilateral organizations, business leaders, and representatives from academia, creating a highly qualified platform for strategic discussions on growth, competitiveness, productive integration, and regional cooperation in a highly complex international landscape.

On January 29, Lilian also took part in the event’s official Business Roundtable, a platform aimed at effectively generating commercial opportunities and fostering business internationalization. The scale of the initiative highlights its significance:

  • More than 400 participating business leaders

  • 4,000 business meetings held

  • 149 buyers from 34 countries

  • 270 exporters from 20 nations

  • US$ 72,208,019 in expected business volume

With a focus on agri-food, technology, manufacturing, fashion, and services, the meetings fostered strategic connections among Brazilian companies, international buyers, investors, and financial institutions. Countries represented included Canada, Spain, Italy, South Korea, India, Colombia, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Paraguay, and Bolivia, highlighting the global reach of the initiative.

Lilian Schiavo’s participation, as a member of IBREI, reinforces the institution’s leadership through its board members in the region’s main economic forums, expanding networks, identifying concrete business opportunities, and strengthening bridges toward a more dynamic and sustainable Latin American integration.

Latin America and the Caribbean thus establish themselves as spaces of innovation, competitiveness, and strategic cooperation in the contemporary global context.
