IBREI Participates in the Universal Peace Federation’s Rally of Hope

Peace Ambassadors Lilian Schiavo, President of the Brazilian Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (OBME) and Council Member of the Brazilian Institute of International Business Relations (IBREI), and Vera Tabach, National President of the Brazilian Association of Electronic Media Press (ABIME Brasil), represented Brazil and Latin America at the event.

The Rally of Hope took place on August 9 in an online edition, promoted by the Universal Peace Federation (an NGO with general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, UN) and its global movement, under the theme:

“One million expressions of hope for the realization of a unified world of peace based on interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values.”

The event organizers initially estimated an audience of one million people, but the number surpassed tens of millions of viewers from 194 countries.

Numerous celebrities, political and religious leaders, heads of state, and many other international authorities participated in the event, such as:

Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations; H.E. Chuichi Date, former President of the House of Councillors of Japan; Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives; H.E. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia; H.E. Macky Sall, President of Senegal; Hon. Brigi Rafini, Prime Minister of Niger; Jimmy Morales, President of Guatemala; Alfred Moisiu, former President of Albania (2002–2007); Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister of Canada (2006–2015); Dick Cheney, former Vice President of the United States of America; Rev. Paula White, spiritual advisor to President Donald Trump; and other world leaders.

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation and host of the Rally, delivered the opening speech.
