IBREI participates in a meeting of the BRICS Business Council

On May 21, 2021, IBREI participated in a meeting of the BRICS Business Council.

The meeting addressed topics related to aligning the bloc with the Brazilian government.

The session was opened by Jackson Schneider, President & CEO of Embraer Defesa e Segurança, discussing Brazil’s priorities for the upcoming meetings of foreign trade ministers. This was followed by Roberto Fendt, Special Secretary for Foreign Trade and International Affairs at the Ministry of Economy. Next, Ambassador Sarquis José Buainain Sarquis, Secretary of Foreign Trade and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, updated the group on discussions regarding economic and foreign trade topics. The meeting concluded with Cláudia Prates, Director General of the Regional Office for the Americas of the New Development Bank (NDB), who spoke about the status of the NDB in Brazil.
