Over two intense weeks in Rio Grande do Sul, Karen Schneider, President of IBREI's Tourism Division, actively participated in the celebrations of the Bicentennial of German Immigration, strengthening business and cultural ties.

The celebrations of the 200th anniversary of German immigration in Brazil reached a historic milestone on July 25 in the city of São Leopoldo, RS. Karen Schneider, President of the Tourism Division of the Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations (IBREI), played a crucial role in the celebrations, resulting from a partnership with the official Bicentennial committee, led by Rafael Gessinger.
During two weeks of visits, meetings, and events, Schneider participated in various significant activities. Among them, the visit of the German Business Delegation from Rhineland-Palatinate, organized by the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) and AHK-RS, stood out, where she took part in a business roundtable and attended a lecture by Sebastian Watenberg.
Schneider was also involved in the Thematic Chamber of the RS Plan Council, participating in the first meeting with Secretary Ernani Polo and the Vice-Governor of RS, Gabriel Souza. Additionally, she met with the presidency of the Oktoberfest Santa Cruz do Sul to promote the event and highlight the importance of local tourism in cities of German heritage, accompanied by Cristiana Verônica Mueller, coordinator of the International Advisory Office at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC) and a member of the regional and state Bicentennial committee.
Another highlight was the Bicentennial event at OSPA, conducted by Evandro Matté and featuring German soloist Christoph Hartmann. At this event, Schneider had the honor of meeting Governor Eduardo Leite, thanking him for the work done during times of crisis. The government's publicity director, Natacha Gastal, was also acknowledged for her help in promoting the Bicentennial, which received support from Kallas Mídia OOH.
Schneider's visit to RS culminated in the screening of the documentaries "Freud - The Stranger" and "Ivoti - Garden of German Immigration - 200 Years of History and Legacy," with the participation of filmmaker and producer Beto Rodrigues, who congratulated Ruimara Stein and Angelisa Stein for their productions.
