2nd High Level Meeting Brazil-Índia

On May 5, 2021, continuing the meeting held on March 3, 2021, the IBREI and the Embassy of India in Brazil organized the second edition of the High-Level Meeting Brazil-India – a gathering that brought together government institutions from Brazil and India to exchange know-how and design joint initiatives to promote the development and international market access of micro and small enterprises.
In the first meeting, senior government officials from both countries met to share know-how and exchange information on actions, policies, programs, and regulatory mechanisms related to the development of micro and small enterprises in their respective countries. Additionally, the meeting aimed to identify opportunities for closer business and commercial integration between Indian and Brazilian companies in various sectors, fostering greater international access and integrating SMEs into global supply chains.
In this second meeting, members of the government technical teams, as well as SEBRAE National and SEBRAE/SP, gathered to build on the topics discussed in the previous meeting.
The topics addressed included:
– Integration of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) into global supply chains.– Sharing information on policies and programs for the promotion and development of SMEs in both countries.– Identifying potential manufacturing and service sectors for organizing regular B2B business rounds between MSMEs from both countries.– Sharing the Brazilian experience with the Portal for formalizing the “Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI).”– Credit access programs – national guarantee system – sharing India’s know-how in this area.– Presentation of the “Brazilian Entrepreneur Protection System,” a new system designed to support micro and small business owners.
The next step will be to organize international business rounds between micro and small enterprises from both countries in specific sectors.
